Riverwoods at Christmas time

Our favorite place to visit Santa is at Riverwoods. We love the lights, music, carriage rides, chocolates, hay rides, and of course seeing Santa. Who, we all think is the real Santa.
This is one of the first Christmas activities we do to jump start the season.

All Things Halloween

I love Halloween. As as kid who doesn't love trick or treating--right? But as an adult I love decorating for Halloween, I love making caramel apples, I love eating a warm soup on Halloween night, and I love more than anything taking Crew Trick or Treating.

This year I asked Crew what he wanted to be for Halloween. His response was "a semi-truck". So I made him a semi-truck costume. But of course he wanted nothing to do with it. He was not going to wear it. Strike one. Then I tried a dinosaur costume. Crew's response "don't like it". Strike two. Then I thought he likes pirates. So we tried a pirate costume. Same thing. Strike three. On Halloween afternoon I wasn't sure if I was going to get Crew to wear a costume at all.

But, when he woke up from his nap I was determined. I got a fruit snack and some candy and bribed him to put on a boxer costume. Finally! He actually wore something--and he looked so cute in it.

We met up with Adam at his work for some early "cubical" trick or treating. Crew loved it and quickly caught on to the concept of it all. Then we came home, ate dinner, and headed out for some real Halloween Trick or Treating. Adam stayed home and passed out the candy.

Adam taught Crew to say "I'm gonna bust you up"-- appropriate for a boxer to say. Adam would prompt Crew to say it. It was pretty funny.

Hope you had fun Trick or Treating.

Happy Halloween

Costume strike #1
Don't let the picture deceive you. He wore it for .2 seconds and didn't put it on again.

Getting Ready

Let the Trick or Treating begin!

Eating some of his candy--he earned it.

Our home was decorated for Halloween this year. In fact, it has been decorated since the beginning of September. I am sad to take it down.

Family Pictures

We got family pictures taken about a week ago. The apple orchard close to our house was the perfect spot with all the fresh apples hanging from the trees. Crew was the best little boy for the pictures and our photographer even snapped a few maternity pictures of me at 28 weeks. I love how all the pictures turned out and am so glad we got pictures of this phase of our family before it changes again in December.

Florida

Lets go back a couple weeks to Florida. It was lovely. Crew and I enjoyed our quite time in the mornings eating breakfast and going to the pool while we waited for Adam to get home from his meetings. By noon  Crew was down for a nap and Adam was home and then we would head out for lunch, more pool time or the ocean--but the water was cold--and then dinner. I was so glad Crew and I could tag along for this business trip.

Find a rock, pick it up, throw it in the water, repeat. All day enjoyment for Crew.

Our second night in Amelia we went to Downtown Fernindina. It was my favorite night and we ate the best dinner at the mexican restaurant right on center street.

We stopped at this local ice cream shoppe and got homemade chocolates and ice cream. Crew devoured his and got so messy. People would stop and watch him eat like it was the cutest messiest thing they had ever seen.

Amelia Island and Fernindina Beach/town are quite old and have all these amazing buildings that I loved.

The center street of downtown was lined with all these trees--which is why I think it was so charming.

The next morning I took Crew on a walk. The most amazing site in Amelia Island, in my opinion, are the living oak trees. There were everywhere! They would canopy the roads and moss hangs from them and they grown in all directions. They were amazing!

After our walk we went to the pool and stayed the whole day just playing and eating.

The conference was held at the Ritz Carlton...I know I know, it was very nice. The kiddy area was so fun for Crew complete with a kids pool and sand area.

The flowers were amazing and they made the entire pool area and restaurant smell divine.

Eating lunch at the pool side cafe. We all loved our food. Jenica, our friend and Adam's co-worker was also on the business trip. We hung out with her a lot and by the end of the trip Crew was saying her name and following her around. She was so cute to Crew.

Hand down Crew new favorite activity in the pool is to jump from the pool side edge into the water. He did this over and over and over.

We loved out stay in Ameila Island and would love to go back someday. We loved where we stayed, The Omni villas, but the Ritz was our favorite. I am glad to have discovered this gem of a vacation spot and to have had the chance to be with Adam instead of away from his during this long business trip.
