Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday Adam (yesterday)!

Yes, we did celebrate Adam's birthday I just didn't get it up into time on the blog. Adam turned 29 on Tuesday. However, life has been a little busy with adjusting to parenthood--which we love--my sister having her baby boy on Monday, our niece Paisley also had a birthday on the Tuesday, and work. But Birthday's are very important in my mind so we managed to find time to celebrate.
Knowing it would be a busy week ahead we started Adam's birthday festivities on Saturday.

Adam went golfing in the morning with his family and used his Upro golf gps, which was is birthday gift. And if you are wondering, he shot a 41 which placed him above his dad and siblings--as it should be for the birthday boy.
Then we got together with his family in the evening.
If you know the Nelson's you know about Dave's (Adam's Dad) famous pancake and eggs breakfast. Amazing! So of course this is what Adam requested for his birthday feast. Nothing compares to how perfect these pancakes are with their light crispy edge taste.
Breakfast was topped off with fresh peach pie (Yes, it is finally peach season!), homemade oreo ice cream, and white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies. Adam has a sweet tooth and loves his desserts.
We sat outside the rest of the evening and just relaxed as we talked. Getting together with the Nelson's is always a fun time--especially when we are celebrating a birthday.

Then on Adam's actual birthday, the 24th, he had to work. So Crew and I woke up early (we were up anyway cause Crew was hungry) and hung a "happy birthday" sign for our favorite husband and father.
Then Crew and I visited Adam at his work to drop off a cake we made that afternoon. Plus, we wanted to introduce Crew to some of Adam's co-workers.

That evening we ordered dinner to go and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home with just our family of three.
Yes, it was a low key birthday but Adam requested that we just celebrate with family. I guess he feels that after 28 other birthday parties he didn't need another huge celebration--which I understand.
Adam, you are the most amazing husband and father. I love watching you care for Crew because I see how much you love him. You make us so happy and we couldn't have asked for a better provided for our family. We love you more each day. You are the love of my life. Happy birthday!

Nursery
I finally have pictures of Crew's nursery. It took me a while to decided what color to paint and what bedding I liked best, but now that it is done (for the most part) I couldn't be more in love with it.
I love the white walls next to the aqua paint contrasted with the orange and green accents. It is so bright and fun. My favorite part about the whole nursery is the curtains. I bought the fabric in LA and sewed them over the summer. They complete the room for me. Take a peek.

I plan on putting Crews name in block letters in the blank spot on the wall above his crib--eventually

Oh, how I love the curtains!

Photos taken by Leanne Barlow. Thanks Leanne--they turned out great!

Blessing from Heaven
Crew is truly a blessing from heaven. He fills our family with love. I have never seen or held a more perfect miracle than Crew. He is such a darling baby and has Adam and my hearts tightly wrapped around his tiny fingers. He is perfect in every way.
Words can't describe how much we love our baby Crew. I thank my Heavenly Father over and over for the sweet spirit he has sent us and in blessing us of being Crew's parents. We love you Crew. We love you so much.

Our new family has never been happier. I didn't know I could feel this way.

Landscaping
Yes, we finally have a lawn! Adam and I started working on our yard in late June. We had full intention of having the landscaping done before the Crew was born however we ended up finishing it when Crew was one week old. It was somewhat overwhelming to say the least. But we are so thrilled that it is finished.
Thank you to my Brother-in-law who helped us do our landscaping. He hauled out rocks, set sprinklers, graded the top soil, and laid sod. He did an amazing job!
Sprinklers

Grading the top soil--we had 10 truck loads of top soil! We also had a ton of rocks to cover.

Curbing (Set on Friday the day after Crew was born).

Sod
We are so thankful for all the family, friends, and neighbors who so kindly gave their time and service to help us lay sod. Thank you!

Almost done just have to clean up.

Our darling neighbor girls across the street came and met Crew that evening and after wards made this for him.

What a difference grass makes!
