The Best of Fall

October brought some of the best FALL weather we have ever had. We tried to take advantage of the warm days and all the Fall festivities that October brings. Here is a snap shot of what we filled our days with this past month.

Eating Sundaes at Thanksgiving Point Deli--a new favorite spot for dessert.

Collins just keeps getting prettier and prettier as she grows.

I am trying to remember to take lots of pictures of Collins so I don't fall into the stereotype of "with every child you have, you take less pictures because you are too busy". Which is a true statement but I am honestly trying to prove it wrong.

Went on a lot of walks to look at Fall leaves

Went to Gardner Village with cousins and Crew found all the witches to earn his cookie. Smart boy.

Crew played in his first season of soccer and loved it!

Our days looked a lot like this. Collins constantly sitting on my belly, my belly constantly getting bigger, and us trying to all get ready to go places.

We enjoyed the funnest Halloween party with all of our Nelson cousin at Grandma and Grandpas house.

And lastly, we are still enjoying the candy from our Halloween night of trick or treating. I think the Spiderman and the Strawberry are a great combo because you don't get cuter than this.

Cabin Leaves

Got together with family at the Sundance cabin over conference weekend. The leaves and the colors on the mountains made for a beautiful and fun sunny day. And I should mention that Crew waited patiently all day to ride on Bob, the horse. He was so excited when he finally got to go for a ride. Luckily, Crew has great aunts and uncles to take him on multiple horse rides since Adam was out of town and me being pregnant couldn't ride the horse.

All Things Halloween

I love Halloween. As as kid who doesn't love trick or treating--right? But as an adult I love decorating for Halloween, I love making caramel apples, I love eating a warm soup on Halloween night, and I love more than anything taking Crew Trick or Treating.

This year I asked Crew what he wanted to be for Halloween. His response was "a semi-truck". So I made him a semi-truck costume. But of course he wanted nothing to do with it. He was not going to wear it. Strike one. Then I tried a dinosaur costume. Crew's response "don't like it". Strike two. Then I thought he likes pirates. So we tried a pirate costume. Same thing. Strike three. On Halloween afternoon I wasn't sure if I was going to get Crew to wear a costume at all.

But, when he woke up from his nap I was determined. I got a fruit snack and some candy and bribed him to put on a boxer costume. Finally! He actually wore something--and he looked so cute in it.

We met up with Adam at his work for some early "cubical" trick or treating. Crew loved it and quickly caught on to the concept of it all. Then we came home, ate dinner, and headed out for some real Halloween Trick or Treating. Adam stayed home and passed out the candy.

Adam taught Crew to say "I'm gonna bust you up"-- appropriate for a boxer to say. Adam would prompt Crew to say it. It was pretty funny.

Hope you had fun Trick or Treating.

Happy Halloween

Costume strike #1
Don't let the picture deceive you. He wore it for .2 seconds and didn't put it on again.

Getting Ready

Let the Trick or Treating begin!

Eating some of his candy--he earned it.

Our home was decorated for Halloween this year. In fact, it has been decorated since the beginning of September. I am sad to take it down.

Cornbelly's

We took two trips to Cornbellys this week. On Monday Crew and I went with some good friends and then we went again on Saturday with Adam and my sister's family. Between the two trips we spent over 6 hours at Cornbellys and I think Crew would have stayed longer. He loved everything about this Fall Festivity--slides, pumpkins, tractors, and games. I liked the JCW's shake I got afterwards along with my tired boy who took a great nap.
