Witches Night Out
A bunch of girls in my neighborhood got together and went to Gardner Village last Saturday. Luckily the rain held out. We all dressed up and had a cackling good time.

Bumbo
We tried out the bumbo with Crew.
He does really well for about 30 seconds and then his head starts to flop or rest to the left side. It is so cute to see such a tiny guy sit up.

Smiles
Crew smiles all the time now. It is the cutest thing. My favorite time of the day is around 7:30 am when he wakes up from sleeping. I'll lean in and say "good morning" and he gives me the biggest smiles. I love waking up to see them.
I can get a smile out of him pretty much on demand now. His smiles are so consistent and it is so fun to get a smiley reaction from him when I talk to him or blow on his face.
He will lay on a blanket and coo for 30 minutes and smile to himself while doing so. He makes tons of noises and we hold conversations where I'll talk to him and he'll coo's back to me.
He has two smiles. One opened mouth--that I love. And one closed mouth where I can't even see his lips.

New York City: Day 4
Our last day in New York City was probably my favorite. It captured the essence of being in New York.
Fifth Avenue

On the boat tour we let Crew stretch out from being in the baby Bjorn all day. And he slept during the whole boat ride.

Maybe my favorite part of New York was going to see
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
on Broadway. I have grown up listening to this music and I finally got to see the show. AMAZING! We all agreed that we needed to see one more show before we left because we didn't want to end on West Side Story (read previous post). Oh, How I Loved this show. The phantom gave me chills he was so good. In fact, the show was so good I think I had goosebumps the whole time. I want to see it again.
Dave and Sally were kind enough to watch Crew and Sammy while we all went to the show. This is what we came home to after the show.

We couldn't leave New York without going to
Serendipity
to try their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate. So the ladies took a midnight taxi.
We ordered the Famous Sunday and the Frozen Hot Chocolate. We cleaned out both dishes and wanted more. The Frozen Hot chocolate did not dissappoint. It was a perfect treat to end our NYC trip with. Just look at it...it tastes as good as it looks.
We loved our vacation to New York and we can't wait to go back. Maybe just a girls shopping trip next time though. After going to 3 shows, eating at so many delicious restaurants, and touring just about all of the city we came back fulfilled and tired. But it was so much fun.

New York City: Day 3
Day three in New York was full of new experiences. We had some plans for the day but really we just kind of winged it. Our spontaneity gave us both good and not so good experiences.
Good:
Started the day of by going to Battery Park and eating at a yummy Manhattan cafe for breakfast.
We saw some "must see" locations in NYC. The "LOVE" statue being one of them.
The Bull right by Wall street/Wall Street with a view of the oldest church which was once the tallest building in NYC.
Canal Street. We loved canal street. Just the ladies went shopping on Canal street. Canal street/China town brought to us many wonderful finds including many scarves.
While the girls shopped the guys went to the TKTS both in Time Square to try and get us more tickets to another Broadway show that night (because we loved Marry Poppins so much we wanted to see another show). When they got to the front of the line the options were Memphis--with obstructed view seats, West Side Story, or Phantom. We really wanted to see Memphis--the history behind rock and roll but we wanted to see the show and not a poll. A few people had already seen Phantom so we ended up with West Side Story.
BAD: here is where our spontaneity failed us.
We all fell asleep at some point during the production of West Side Story. To me, it was so boring. The acting was high school level at most, and the set was put together by children. Can you tell how much I didn't like it. I can't believe nobody told me how boring this show is. What a waste of time. I know it is a classic musical n'all but I don't know how it got there because we all--excluding Sally--did not enjoy ourselves.
However, besides this one choice the rest of the day was great. Probably because we ended the day with cheesecake and another visit to the Shake Shack.

New York City: Day 2
Our second day in NYC was amazing.
We started with a stroll through Central Park. I love central Park. Everything about makes me feel refreshed. I wish we had time to rent bikes ard ride through the park. I'll be sure to put that on the list for the next time we go.
we saw these guys spray painted in gold. They were so still they truly looked like statues. He even balanced the broom on his head for over 10 minutes--no joke.
Next we went to the best--no joke--pizza place Grimaldi's. It is located under the Brooklyn bridge and it is famous for a good reason. There coal oven pizza is the best. Our waiter was spectacular and our pizza was the best I have ever had. Fresh mozzarella, basil, and seasoned to perfection.
Took the metro there
We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge back to New York after lunch.
That evening we went to the Broadway Production of Mary Poppins.
I'll be honest, I don't love the movie Mary Poppins so I wasn't that excited to see the Broadway production. Although, I knew it would be good since most Broadway shows are, I was just thinking it wouldn't be as good as others I have seen.
I was wrong! It was Amazing. I loved it! Even all the guys loved it. (ps it is coming to SLC and you won't want to miss it.)
There is nothing like seeing a show on Broadway to make you feel like you are in NYC!
While I am giving recommendation of things to see and places to go in NYC put the SHAKE SHACK as one of your go to places to eat. It has the best burgers, custards, and shakes. I got a coconut caramel custard that was divine. We ended up eating there twice it was so good.
