Summer Concert

Adam and I went to the Jordan Sparks concert last night at the Scera with some friends. Jordan was really good and it ended up being a fun summer concert.

While at work yesturday, I decided I wanted to make Eclairs. My Boss's daughter, Aly, was working that day as well and she decided to come over and make them with me. She is so cute. Although we need to work on our chocolate flicking, the eclairs turned out great and were delcious!

Shout Out

Yesterday my sister Kerrie and my friend Abby had their birthdays! Kerrie, recently a new mom, turned 25 and Abby turned 22. Even though their birthdays were yesterday I was too busy celebrating with them to write on my blog. So here are some of my favorite memories of two of my favorite people.
(Kerrie and I eating dinner before we went to Wicked!)

Kerrie:

1. Playing boat on the top of the stairs--you always fell into the waterfall

2. Making life size paper dresses

3. Remember when you made me be your servant?

4. Watching Anne of Green Gables and playing playmobile every Sunday

5. Getting our own rooms--but always wanting to hang out with you in your room because lets face it--I always wanted to hang out with you.

6. Being an aunt to Jace

(sorry bad pic of us, it is the only one I could find of just Abby and me.)

Abby:

1.You cut my hair, even when it is smelled like campfire

2. You are a plastic and I am wholesome, we balance each other out ( from "reasons why Abby and Brittany became Abny")

3. Because, seriously, we are the coolest people. We decide who belongs on the cool list and it isn’t fatty girls in our apartment who are going to hog up the TV and eat all my potato chips (quoted from Abby)

4. Walking out of restaurants with Ikea cups in your hands

5. Waking up every morning of freshman year at 8:55, walking into your room to see if you were going to class, after verifying that you were going to class we proceeded to walk to Gaye Stratherns BOM class half awake in practically the clothes we slept in, and then coming back and eating in the Canon center.

6. Pie Party--need I say more. You are the reason I met Adam.

Happy Birthday!

Jace Harley Marshall

My favorite sister (I only have one) had her baby on Friday! It was the most amazing experience to be at the hospital with her and press my ear up to the door to hear Jace's first cry. He is so cute! I'll try and post better pictures of him later.

Jace is about 2 mins old right here. I couldn't be more proud of my sister and her husband Justin. I love being and aunt.

Happenings

Now that I am a teacher, I get to go to really fun conferences (that the Alpine School District pays for). Some of the classes I went to, of the many to choose from, were How to Make Roman Shades, Fact or Fiction on foods, Current Home Trends, and my favorite Plate Design taught by a teacher/chef from the Art Institute of SL. He taught us all about garnishes and proper plate design and placement.

Here is my plated design of chocolate mousse, fruit couli, and a sweat white cream posing in the typical Beatty Crocker fashion.

Here is a close up of my master piece. I think the mint leaf adds a lot of character.

Chelsea and I went to the Parade of Homes last Saturday and this room was one of our favorites!

Adam and I also went to Color Me Mine with Amanda and Marshall (pictures to come). We loved it! Our plate and bowl turned out amazing!

Adam also got his first sale as an account magager at work! I am so proud of him. He loves his job and works so hard at it.

Vacation in Newport California

We are back from our vacation to Newport. It was so much fun ! Here are some, okay a lot of pictures of what we did .
We spent everyday but Tuesday at the beach just relaxing and enjoying ourselves.

Adam, his two brothers, Tyler and Casey, and his dad playing boccie ball. A favorite beach time activity.

We always go to Balboa Island and get a Balboa bar and watch the kids ride on the ferris wheel. This is Adam and I in front of the Harbor.

Jett, our nephew, would chase the pigeons all day at the beach. This is him preparing to attack.

Adam tried surfing for the first time and I don't know if he stood up but he looks good carrying a surf board if that counts.

While we were laying our a police helicopter flew by and drop a police officer into the ocean for some training. If you look hard (or enlarge) you can see him jumping out.

We went to Disney Land on Tuesday. We had breakfast with the characters and our nieces and nephews loved it. This is us on Thunder Mountain getting ready to take off.

Niel and Darci came to visit us on Monday. Although the weather does not look so good behind them, we had blue skies and Darci and I got burned. It was so fun to hang out with them again.

Every morning we would wake up and walk by the pier to this bakery. It honestly is the best bakes goods I have ever had. This morning I got a blueberry muffin, and a famous apple fritter, while Adam and got the classic ham and cheese croissant. After this, we went on a bike ride to long beach.

View from the pier at sunset.

As soon as we got to Newport all of us girls went shopping-of course! Since we were out we decided to try the so famous Pinkberry frozen yogurt. It was better than I thought it would be. Adam and I went back to more later than week.

Here is just one of my adorable nieces, Ava in her sassy pink swimsuit. She is such a doll.

Another picture just to prove to you that Adam orders breakfast at any restaurant at any time of day. However, Charlies Chilie--where we went to dinner--does have the best pancakes. I even got pancakes for dinner.

Usually, our first night in California we eat dinner at Charlies Chilie, right by the pier. This starts the vacation off right.
