Cancan: Part 3

On Wednesday, we took a break from the beach and pool and went to Tulum. Adam and I had been there before. It was probably the prettiest of all the ruins. However, one visit every 10 years is good enough and and quick 30 minute walk around the ruins was perfect for us--and our family members.

On the way to Tulum we hit traffic. What caused the traffic?

This dump truck thought it could drive through the semi-truck with two trailers beds full of cinder blocks. Wrong choice dump truck. It was a mess. And in Mexico there aren't really rules about avoiding traffic so lanes were being created by whoever and nobody was directing traffic. It was a circus.

It was an exciting day away from the hotel and a good change in our routine from the previous days.

On the way back from visiting Tulum we stopped at a popular beach...Akumar.

This beach is shallow and great for snorkeling. We could walk out 100 yards and still only be waist high in the water.  It was so nice for the kids to play in shallow water and not have waves crash into them. Crew, of course loved it!

Yes, I forgot Crew's swim suit and rash guard. But aren't his little legs so cute!

While snorkeling we saw two huge sting ray and one sea turtle. It was sweet.
