Two Things: Zara and Pinning

First

Did you know that Zara Kids is now ONLINE! I have already started a habit of making a weekly purchase. I am trying not to buy everything all at once. I love the clothing they have for little boys.

Second

I can't stop pinning on Pinterst. It is somehow taking up my free time at night when Crew is sleeping.

Tell me you are doing the same things

Next up...Photos of Island Park

Island Park

We returned home from our long weekend in Island Park. It was relaxing and beautiful. I can't wait to show you all the photos. There is nothing better than the solitude of being in a cabin on the river front with family.

Dirty Dash

Adam, my sister Kerrie, Brother in law Justin, and I ran the Dirty Dash last Saturday. It was a lot of fun and really really muddy. There is no way to go through all the obstacles and ropes course without submerging yourself in the mud. It was crazy! Not so much a race--just a sloppy, mud filled, 10K.
This is us before...

and this is after...

After the race we mostly threw away or donated our dirty clothes. I didn't want to even bother with trying to get all the dirt out.

Andrew and Kailee

My brother, Andrew, got married on August 27th in the Mount Timp Temple. He wife, Kailee, is a perfect match for him and he treats her like a queen. They are so cute together in their "newly-wed stage". I love that I now have a sister in law!

Kailee is an amazing person. As you look at the pictures you will notice that she has short arms. It is a birth defect. She has overcome so much and is an amazing person because of it. I am so excited that Kailee is a part of our family.

CREW IS WALKING!

Not only is Crew walking but he dribbles a soccer ball while he walks. As soon as Crew tried walking he never stopped. His first step was actually 10 steps. He walked the 10 steps to me and since than he only wants to walk. He seems like such a toddler now that he walks But I prefer walking so he doesn't scrape up his knees.

Every morning that I go in to get him out of his crib he stands up for me to pull him out, gives me a big hug, and then checks my ears to see if I have earrings in them. It makes me laugh every time.

He plays pass with a ball

Trades a toy back and forth between his hands

Hands me toys in the palm of my hand or sometimes just pretends to hand me a toy and then he keeps the toy to himself

Helps me dress him by putting his arms through his shirts sleeves and lifts his legs to put pants on

Drinks whole milk now--but still on a bottle

Loves all fruit and most veggies--especially peas

Tried his first lolly-pop (please don't look too long as his horrible hair cut. It is a straight-up bowl-cut from the 90's. Luckily it has grown out since this picture)

Gives the cutest "shy" face. Puts one cheek on his shoulder while lifting his shoulder and looks at you through the corner of his eyes.

Mimics the sounds I make. Growling, Momma, Dada, Ah Ah Ah

Bobs his head when I start to dance

Likes to sit in the sink while I get ready in the mornings--or more realistically the afternoons

Puts his arms above his head when I say "sooo big"

When I ask Crew where his ball is, he knows exactly what I am talking about and walks straight to it

He takes one nap from about 12:00-1:30 pm.  Sleeps at night from 8:00pm--8:00am. I love that he lets me sleep in. At night I sing the same three songs: Twinkle Twinkle, I am and Child of God, and You are my Sunshine

Gives me the "all done" sign in ASL when he is done eating. It looks like he is trying to pull of his bib when he does the sign. It is cute.

Loves to be outside

Wants to climb down the stairs by walking down them. Forget scooting down.

Likes to pull on his diaper in the front--not really sure why he does this

Lifts up his shirt--and everybody else shirt--to find his belly button

Claps without me prompting him too

Like to play with all the tupperware lids in the kitchen. It is his drawer that he knows he can get into

EATS SO MUCH FOOD. Seriously. During one meal he ate three ribs, two slices of watermelon, half and ear of corn, and a small potato.

Is just starting to get molars

Curls his tongue to the side. While curling his tongue he also makes a "lelelelel" sound. It is very unique to his babbling.

He likes to sit with one leg under his bum like he is taking a soccer team photo--sans the soccer ball

Pats him tummy

Combs his hair when he sees me comb my hair

It is amazing to me to see all the little developments that Crew learns overnight. He is learning so quickly now. It is pure joy to be at this stage in our lives with Crew. We love to play with him and make him laugh.

Labor Day Weekend

Every year for the Labor Day weekend we go to Midway. The whole Nelson clan stays at the Midway cabin, we go to Swiss Days (love), and enjoy peaches galore.

There is no other city-festival that compares to Swiss Days. It is my favorite. I look forward to it all year long--really, I do. I spent all Friday and Saturday walking around the booths and eating food. My mom, sister, and cousin decided to join up with us on Saturday which was an added bonus.

While in Midway we drove over Guardsman Pass. It is a beautiful drive and at the top is a gorgeous view that looks over Deer Lake and Park City.

By the time we headed home from the holiday weekend I think our family consumed 1 1/4 bushels of peaches. We ate them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Who could pass up peaches n'cream, peach cobbler, or just a fresh peeled peach?

Anyway, I supposed Fall is officially here and I I can't wait to pull out my scarves and boots.

Horses

We went horse back riding over the weekend.
I love that Adam's family has horses. It was Crew's first time being on a horse and he loved it.

We had such a great time at the Sundance cabin riding the horses. Afterward we had tasty BBQ Ribs for dinner with the Nelson Family to celebrate Adam's birthday.  Crew ate three ribs and then wanted to chew on the bone when he was done.
