Highland City Parade

This morning Crew and I were in the Highland City Parade. It was fun, hot, short, and entertaining. Crew did awesome on the trailer we were riding in. He waved at all the people and said "hi". 

Last Saturday I entered Crew in the baby contest for Highland City. I was hoping Crew would win a sweet toy at the raffle but instead Crew won for his age group! What a stud! As a bonus (ha ha) we got to ride in the parade with all the other baby contest winners. 

It ended up being more for than I had anticipated. 

And this boy turns 2 tomorrow! 

Boston

I went to Boston in May to visit my good friend Abby. I had never been to Boston and we had some flights that had to be used before June so Crew and I went out and spent 4 days with Abby and her cute boy Cooper. 

I was 8 weeks pregnant and tired as a dog. But Abby was a wonderful host and let me take a nap everyday. Thank goodness! She was also an excellent tour guide. We had a great time together even though I was nauseous and tired. Staying busy those first few weeks helped me not focus on the pregnancy and made time go by faster. 

Our first night there we went out to eat at a great restaurant (forgot the name). It was my favorite place we ate. The next day we started the site seeing.  

So here are some pictures that I took while staying with her. 

Day One:

Freedom Trail: Revere Church (where the lanterns were lit)

 Tasty Gelto. Crew and Coop were so good. 

 Downtown--I loved the architecture and the brick buildings. Very classy.

 We got lucky in terms of the weather. It was overcast but it didn't ever pour on us. It made it very nice for walking around the city. 

Day Two:

 Walden Pond. I loved this place. I would have loved to spend more time here but it was rainy and babies were sleeping in the car.

 This river divided the British from the American's armies and is where the first shot was fried.

(Shot heard around the world). It was the most scenic place we went too while in Boston.

We had pack a lunch earlier and found a perfect little alley to stop and eat in Concord. 

 Day Three:

 Abby lives in the heart of Boston and her neighborhood is very pictureesque. The brownstone apartments were stunning but the trees that canopy her street made it just lovely. 

 Crew and I had to stop by and see Fenway Park. I am sure going to a game would be amazing but just looking at the park was nothing great. I did however, buy some Boston merchandise for Crew and Adam. 

Day Four: 

Before leaving for the airport on our last day we stopped the park to let the boys play. Crew instantly started throwing sticks and rocks in the pond.

 Crew and I had a wonderful time in Boston. I would love to go back with Adam sometime. Boston is full of places to eat and we ate and some great spots--hopefully next time I won't feel so lowsy so I can really eat to my hearts content!

Boy or Girl?

It's a...

  GIRL!

Adam and I are so excited that we are having a little girl! Honestly, I was pretty sold on the fact that this was going to be another boy. The only doubt in my mind that it wasn't a boy was the fact that I was sick during the first trimester. So when the ultra sound technician said it was a girl I started to cry...I guess my heightened emotions should have been a clue...I was so surprised. 

Adam never said what he thought it was (even though I tried to get him to say he thought it was a boy) because he didn't have a strong feeling one way or another. With Crew we both KNEW he was a boy. I had told Adam that I would love if we had two or even three boys right by each other in age. But now knowing that we have this little girl coming into our family I wound't have it any other way. And it feels so perfect.  

Knowing we are having a girl makes me feel like this is our first baby all over again. There are so many changes that we get to make--like a new nursery--that I believe I have already started nesting.

Adam and I tried for a little while to get pregnant this second time (we can't just do our laundry together and get pregnant :)) and we feel so blessed that everything with this sweet girl is healthy and measuring well. Adam and I are instantly in love with this baby girl.  

Baby #2

Adam and I are excited to announce that we are expecting Nelson Baby #2 in December. 

I am 18 weeks today and we find out the gender next week! 

The first trimester was harder for me than in my previous pregnancy but I am feeling great in my second trimester.

Tulip Festival

1. I went to Boston and when I unpacked my bag my camera lens was broken. Thus, the lack of pictures. Although I will get around to posting about Boston soon. 

2. Girls camp is days away and I have been consumed with planning, meetings, and crafts before I leave. 

3. Blogging has taken a back seat lately because it hasn't been on my priority list of things to do. I am enjoying my days and I don't care if I don't blog about it. 

But here are some pictures from when we went to the Tulip festival in April.

We had a lot of fun, as usual, because Thanksgiving Point is one of our go-to places when we need something to do.
