Late Announcement

I know this is a late announcement but as of August 5, 2010 at 11:00 PM we welcomed our little boy into our family. Brittany was fully dilated at 10:30 which is when she started pushing and 30 minutes later we were looking at our little boy. He came out at 8lbs 12 ounces (big little boy) and was 20 inches long. He has a lot of long darker blond hair and he and mommy have been doing great. Now all we need to do is finalize a name.

5 hours and counting...

We have just passed the 5 hour mark since we checked in to the hospital. Brittany is now 100% effaced and dilated to a 5. She received an epidural about an hour and a half ago and is feeling great. Still have a couple more hours.

Baby is on the way!!!

These next few posts are coming from Adam. My hand was forced to document a few things during this blessed process. We got a call from the hospital at 2:00 PM while we were sitting in Thanksgiving Point theater watching Charlie St. Cloud telling us that we need to be the hospital in 30 minutes. We left the theater in a hurry and checked right in. Within 1 hour from check in she was hooked up with all her IV's including patocin and had her water broken. We are under way.

Changing Table

Where to begin?

My experience with ordering a changing table has been a long and somewhat frustrating one.

To summarize, I bought a changing table online--arrived broken. Ordered a second changing table online (company replaced the original)--arrived broken. Got a refund because I decided I ordered a faulty changing table. I bought a third changing table online--arrived in good condition. Finally! Took a month and a half to get it right but it worked out.

By July 30th I was getting worried about not having a changing table in time--but it came that day and we, by that I mean Adam, but it together than night. Only took him 5 hours! Yeah, 5 hours is a long time. Ask Adam, he will share his feelings about putting it together.

It came in a million pieces. Always a good start.

Almost done (about hour 4).

Completed changing table. I love it!

Thank you Adam for putting it together for our baby boy. It is perfect.

24th of July

I know this is a little late but we did celebrate the 24th of July in style--kind of. We had a tasty BBQ with our friends and then lit fireworks.

The kids loved the fireworks. I think the snakes were a favorite--strange because they don't even lite up they just grow/expand/inflate.

However, it started to get windy thus making it hard to lite the fireworks. You can see how the guys had to block the wind while all the kids held up their sparklers. It was entertaining to see our husbands struggle to lite sparklers.
