Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was spent in sunny California with my mom's side of the family. Adam and I had not been to my family's annual Thanksgiving in California since we have been married. It was so fun to have the long weekend with my family but also my extended family. The best part was having my Grandma meet Crew. 

Even though it was a bit chilly we took Crew for his first visit to the beach.

We met up with Celine and Cameron and got to meet their darling little girl Brooklyn. I love how tiny Brooklyn is compared to Eli and Crew's sweet smile .

Jace, my sister's oldest boy, took my grandma's dog, Amy, for a walk each day.  Jace loved holding the leash.

Four Generations

This picture was not taken during our Thanksgiving break but it is my dad's mom and it show four generations on the Harrison side. 

We ate and ate and ate all weekend long and we enjoyed not getting caught in the storms on our way there and back. I hope you enjoyed being with your family during Thanksgiving as much as we did.

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for and most if not all of it is because of these two. They are my favorite. 

My days are so happy when I know I get to be with them everyday. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on the wonderful families we are blessed with and I am so blessed to have my family.

Stein Eriksen

To celebrate our Four year anniversary Adam choose to take us back to the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley. I took Adam there for our Two year anniversary and we loved it. This time was no different--except that Crew came along to enjoy our little getaway with us.

We decided to go for a walk so we bundled up Crew and set out. 

 

There was a ton of snow already on the ground in Deer Valley so it got me gearing up for the Christmas season. (I already have my decorations up). It was our own little winter wonderland stroll.

Now for the food. 

Ever since Adam told me we were going back to the Stein Eriksen I started to salivate. Located in the Stein Eriksen is a restuant called Glitretind. It is a 5 star restaurant and it is the BEST--literally--the Best food I have ever tasted. Hands down delicious. 

Here was our three course meal in cell phone photos because my camera died.

First, the chef made us a complimentary seveche on a wanton. It was the amazing. I had never had seveche and it was very tasty. My favorite part about it was the perfect hint of cilantro.




Appetizers
 Me:

asparagus with vanilla smoke goat cheese panna coata mixed with golden beats and purple beet puree. I ordered it for the experience of trying something new and it was good but Adam's was better.

Adam:

Pork Belly with a pea and potato puree. (pork belly is the same meat that real bacon is made from). It was fatty and so savory.

Entre
Me:

Filet of Washington Beef.
Side note--I am very picky about my beef. I usually don't order beef unless it is from a very nice restaurant (snobish sounding I know) because I like my beef cooked perfectly. When I say I want it medium-well. I mean juicy, with lots of seasoning, slightly pink, and not tough. This particular entre exceeded my requirements and it was so perfect in taste that every bit I chewed slowing and enjoyed eating. I didn't want to miss out on one flavorful bite.

Adam:

Cobe Short Ribs

They were so tender he didn't even need a knife to cut them. I had a bit and it was devine.

Dessert:
Need I say more than just the name of what we ordered. Dessert speaks for itself. 
Me:

Chocolate creme brulee with bananas and a peanut brittle pretzel topped with peanut butter gelato

This is our favorite restaurant and for a delicious reason. It was the best way to celebrate our anniversary. I am so glad Adam took us back there for another year together. I love Adam.

Crib

I started having Crew take his day-time naps in his crib. He seems to like it as he sleeps so well in it.  His handsome self looks so tiny in it. 

 

Don't let this picture fool you. He really does like his crib--but his sad face is even cute to me.

I know I know. Some people like to put the baby in their own room really soon but we love having Crew in our room. It is so fun to wake up to him in the morning and see him smiling at us.  And since he sleeps through the night I have a feeling he will be in our room till he out grows his bassinet--which is soon because he is growing so fast.

Shutterfly

Every year I make Adam a Shutterfly book of our past year of marriage and give it to him on our anniversary. It is the perfect way to remember the year we just completed and have time to reflect on what the next year could hold. My mother-in-law also mention how great it is for our children to look through as it acts a a picture journal as well.

It is a tradition that I started our first year and have loved to create it since then for both of us.
I just finished this book for him for our fourth year.

The Holidays are here and Christmas cards can't be sent out too early. I always fall behind on my cards so this year I am getting an early start.

4 Years

Today, Adam and I are celebrating FOUR years of being married. I made the best decision to marry Adam. He is the love of my life. Every year only gets better and our love only grows stronger.

You are the best husband and father. I love you Adam.

3 Months

Crew is 3 months old

When I take a step back and see myself with a 3 month old baby it amazes me. First, I can't believe I finally have the sweetest baby. Second, I can't believe he is already 3 months old, and third, I love how my life has changed because of Crew. 

Although I don't have stats for him at three months, I do know that he is a big for his age. He looks about the size of a six month old because he is so long. I bet he is close to 26 inches. 

He is wirery. I don't know how else to explain it. He is strong and he moves his arms and legs quickly and sharply all the time.

He doesn't roll over yet but he arches his back so far during tummy time that, I swear, his feet and head are about to touch. He is getting better at tummy time--monstly because I am getting better at remembering to do it. Fifty minutes a day is a lot--we only get in about 35 minutes. But I like that Crew can't roll over yet--although he is getting close.

He is still the most peacefull baby. 

He sleeps THROUGH THE NIGHT! about 13 hours. He takes the best naps and his appetite is growing. 

He smiles all the time and we can't get enough of it

He makes constant noises 

He starting laughing/giggling

He is almost too big for is bassenett (I love having him in our room). 

He wants to be held facing outward. He likes to look at people and everything around him

He smiles with I touch his noise, bounce him, or blow on his face

He likes to hold his bottle when we feed him

He love to be held by his cousins--but especially by his mom and dad.
