5 months

Crew turned 5 months on January 5th. He is discovering new things everyday and we can't get enough of his smiles and giggles. It is so fun to see how is growing and learning.

He is the cutest boy I have ever seen. I can almost hear his giggle in this picture.

He likes to:
put his fingers and fabric in his mouth. He is always reaching for his burp cloth, my shirt, blankets, or his clothes to put in his mouth.

He full on sucks his thumb--but not that often

He has the worst dry skin on his eyebrows. You can see it in these pictures. It is red and bumpy. NOTE: baby lotion only smells good--it does not moisturize--it dries out skin. I am now experimenting with other recommended lotions and it seems to be helping a lot.

He likes to sit propped up on a chair.

He almost sits up by himself. Once he is sitting up he soon falls to the side trying to either grab his clothes or his shoes.

He has discovered his feet. It is like he doesn't know they are his--especially when he moves his feet.

He has had a cough for over a month. After saline drops, a humidifier, Mentholatum, and sleeping on an incline didn't work his doctor prescribed him an antibiotic. He is doing better. Yeah!

He wasn't so sure about the pink cheery stuff at first--but now he grabs the syringe out of our hands to suck on it more.

He loves his jumper

He likes to look at things that light up--even lights in our house or sunlight out the window.

He tried oatmeal for the first time

Crew didn't get the whole "eating with a spoon" concept but I think he liked the oatmeal.

He likes to look in the mirror at himself and gets very wiggly when he sees himself

He just discovered how to blow raspberries with his tongue

He loves bath time and getting his clothes changed. He always grunts when he gets changed.

He sleeps perfectly, on average take 3 naps a day, lets me take a nap too, eats about 22-28 ounces of formula a day, and loves when Adam comes home from work. He gets the biggest smile on his face.

He makes the cutest sad face--it makes me laugh

May favorite smiles are the ones he gives me right after he wakes up

He jabbers, squeals, and grunts all day long

and

loves grabbing his toys and chewing on them.

and BTW--aren't his shoes the coziest. I love them. They stay on all day--seriously, and are so warm.

His personality comes out more and more and Adam and I love being Crew's parents. Also, I love my new camera which is probably why I have so many pictures of Crew on this post. Sorry if you are looking for pics of Adam and I you may only see us every once in a while.

New Years

New Years was just as it should have been for us this year. Lots of snow, tucked away in a cabin, watching movies by the fire, sledding, spending time with family, and eating lots of yummy food.

We headed up to the Nelson's Sundance cabin and enjoyed a long weekend while ringing in the new year.

The drive way became our sledding hill.

In order to get the saletilite to work Adam had to brush off the snow. He chose to do this in -5 degree weather while in shorts. Needless to say he got snow in his boots.

There was FOUR feet of fresh snow at the cabin and more snow under that from a previous storm. I decided to try out my new snow shoes from Christmas on the terrain. It was beautiful!

A blanket of snow

I came across this tiny cabin. It reminded me of Hansel and Gretel.

My sister and brother in law starting out on the loop that earlier we had discovered while I was heading back.

We had so much fun at the cabin. It is the perfect place to escape to on weekends like this. Crew was still sick but despite his yucky cold he was such a good baby. 2010 has been a memorable year--mostly due to Crew and I can't wait to enjoy 2011. Happy New Year!

Christmas 2010

Adam, Crew, and I had a fantastic Christmas. Celebrating the holidays with your child is so special and makes it so much more fun.

It is amazing to me that last Christmas I was a couple months pregnant with Crew and this Christmas Crew is 4 1/2 months old.

This year we spent Christmas with the Nelson's while making small appearances with my family.

Adam and I got each other one big gift this Christmas instead of a lot of smaller one.

Adam got this

A Ruger 10/22 Rifle.

I got this

Canon Rebel T1i Camera. Finally a camera that will take good quality pictures of Crew the moment I want the picture and not 5 seconds later. Which means that most of these pictures are of Crew.

Crew had a yucky cold. Poor guy.

But his cold didn't stop him from loving his new toy from Santa. He hardly let go of the giraffe all day.

My mom and dad

My mom made this advent calendar when we were younger and it still makes me excited to see all the figures pulled out.

Everyone's piles of presents

This year my youngest brother Parker bought for my oldest brother Justin. Yes, He bought him a sword. My brother is slightly a nerd when it comes to history.

Our sweet niece Samantha in her Christmas jammies too.

My SIL got Crew this awesome baby portable feeding tool. Feeding on the go--made easy.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas this year too. I always look forward to this time of year and am a little sad when it is over. I loved spending time with family and look forward to watching people open the gifts we gave them.

Merry Christmas  2010
