St. Croix

Day 7, our last day, the port of call was St. Croix, US Virgin Island.

We all had a great game plan to rent scooters and explore all the beaches and the rain forest. However, when we got off the boat there were no scooters to be found. I guess the US Virgin Islands don't have scooters? So instead we rented Jeep Wranglers. I think the Jeeps turned out to be just as much, if not more, fun than the scooters would have been.

Nate and Nicole shared and Jeep with us and we were the last ones to get the paper work signed and receive our vehicle. Thus, we got separated from the group. No worries, we figured we would just venture out on our own.

So we headed into the rain forest (after removing the top off the jeep).

The drive through the trees was amazing! We were feeling great with the wind blowing in our hair and the shade from canopy of trees we were driving through. We even found some dirt roads and did and little off-roading.

Then, it started to sprinkle. I guess none of us thought that the term "rain forest" actually meant it would rain on us. We were in for a treat.

The rain came so quickly and so hard that in a matter of minutes the inside of our Jeep had inches of rain in it. Literally our feet were covered in water and the cup holders were filled. None of us had ever put a soft top back on a jeep before so it was tricky trying to figure it our while being caught in a mad rain storm.

Eventually, we got the soft top on and found our way to the beautiful town of Christenstead. Phew.

With the recent adventure we had just experienced we thought a nice walk on the board walk and some strawberry-mango drinks would suit us just fine. And they did.

We meet up with the rest of our group for lunch at Angry Nates. Best fish tacos and chips and salsa ever.

We found this little treat while walking through the city

Then we called it a day and headed back to the ship.

Today was the most spontaneous of days.  I have never laughed harder than when we were caught in the rain forest down pour. It made for some great memeories.

As it was our last night on the ship we all went to the top deck and watched the boat pull away and the sun set.

Our last night at dinner together

Going on this cruise, with 7 other couples from our neighborhood, was the best vacation. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and memories because of this trip together. Adam and I are still laughing at all the one liners people came up with during the 8 days together. I am not sure if anything can compare to how fun this getaway was. Thank you to all our friends for making this cruise a week of non stop fun, relaxation, and laughter. You guys are the best!

Sounds like such a fun trip! We are wanting to go on a cruise or to Hawaii. It's been too long since we have gone on a tropical vacation. Who watched Crew? Oh and I'm proud of you that you wore a different swimsuit every day of the cruise:) ha ha That's how it's done.
